Barry Singer MD

Barry Singer, M.D., a native of St. Louis, is Director and Founder of The MS Center for Innovations in Care at Missouri Baptist Medical Center since 2008.  He is an Associate Professor of Clinical Neurology at Washington University School of Medicine. He has been in the BJC Medical Group since 1999 and practiced at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis 1999 to 2008.  He earned his undergraduate degree from Duke University in 1988 and his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1992, followed by a neurology residency at New York Hospital–Cornell University and a neuroimmunology fellowship at the National Institutes of Health.

Dr. Singer has served as an investigator in more than 40 multiple sclerosis clinical trials, advancing new therapeutic options including remyelination strategies. In recognition of his research contributions, he received a Congressional Proclamation for MS research in 2008. He continues to publish in the field of multiple sclerosis and present at global scientific meetings.

A dedicated patient advocate, Dr. Singer served on the Board of Directors of the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America from 2016 to 2025, including a role on its Executive Committee, and was honored as the organization’s 2025 Mission Honoree. He previously served on the Health Advisory Committee of the Gateway Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society from 2000 to 2017 and received the chapter’s Pathlighter Award in 2008.
