About Dr. Hunter

Hunter Mitchell MD

Hunter Mitchell, MD is a fellowship-trained neurologist specializing in multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunology. She joined The MS Center for Innovations in Care at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in August 2026 after completing advanced fellowship training in multiple sclerosis, neuroimmunology, and neuroimaging. Dr. Mitchell is committed to providing compassionate, individualized care while helping people living with MS navigate every stage of their journey.

Dr. Mitchell earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Miami before receiving her medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine. She completed her neurology residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where she served as Chief Resident and received multiple awards for clinical excellence, including both Inpatient and Outpatient Resident of the Year. She then pursued specialized one-year fellowship training in neuroimaging at DENT Neurologic Institute in Buffalo, New York, followed by a two-year Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology Clinical and Research Fellowship at the University of Maryland and the VA Maryland Health Care System.

Dr. Mitchell has expertise in diagnosing and treating multiple sclerosis and other neuroimmune disorders and has participated in research focused on advanced MRI techniques, multiple sclerosis diagnostic criteria, and disorders that mimic MS. As part of The MS Center for Innovations in Care, she works closely with a multidisciplinary team of MS-certified nurses, rehabilitation specialists, infusion services, and clinical research staff to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.
